HWMA member, Daniels Healthcare has introduced a new pharmaceutical waste container range made from 100% recycled materials. The product is the ‘SHARPSGUARD eco pharmi range, and is the first sustainable product offering from Daniels, designed for the disposal of pharmaceutical waste in its original packaging. It is the foundation step in a longer-term plan to reduce single user plastic across all products.
The new range means a 280 tonne reduction of single use plastic per year within Daniels Healthcare; the weight of 80 ambulances. Quicker manufacturing times means more containers in less time saving 284 hours of energy use per year as well as a manufacturing temperature reduction of 10% which means reduced electricity consumption.
